The success of the Pacific women's soccer team has translated into professional contracts for two former Tigers, as Jenae Packard ‘22 and Abigail Wolf ’22 each signed contracts with professional teams overseas.

Both will play in Scandinavian countries—Packard in Denmark and Wolf in Norway.

"We have watched both players develop and flourish over the last three years," said Co-Head Coach Danesha Adams. “Going pro is a testament that dreams can be achieved with hard work, dedication, belief and sheer perseverance."

Packard signed an 18-month contract with Fortuna Hjorring in Denmark, a team that has made the Union of European Football Associations Women's Champions League 14 times, including earning a silver medal in the 2002-03 tournament.

"I am excited to develop as a player at the next level and gain new experiences on and off the field," Packard said. “I want to thank God, my family and friends, and everyone at Pacific who helped prepare me for this next step."

In Packard's first action with the team, Fortuna won 5-0 in an exhibition. Packard is committed to the team through July 2024. "Her willingness to incorporate her teammates in the play and score timely goals are qualities that are going to help her succeed as a pro," Co-Head Coach JJ Wozniak said.

Wolf joined Klepp Elite, one of Norway's top teams, competing in the country's first division.

“I look forward to experiencing a new country and soccer environment,” Wolf said. “I appreciate my team and Pacific coaches for helping prepare me for this amazing opportunity."

While Wolf primarily played fullback (a defensive position) for the Tigers, Adams said she is a “modern-day” outside back whose remarkable fitness level sets her apart from most players in that position.

"Nothing fazes her on the field,“ Adams said.

Packard and Wolf had their first taste of pre-professional soccer over the summer when they joined the Georgia-based soccer organization Tormenta FC. The players helped lead the team to a USL W League Championship in its inaugural season.
